If there is something we love in the Oh La La! office, it’s cocktails. And naturally, we LOVE cocktails that pair with our macarons.
With Mother’s Day just around the corner on 19th March, we don’t think there is a much better way to show your mum how much you love her than with a box of macarons paired with a Slingsby cocktail.
Try these three on for size.
#1 The Slingsby Breakfast Martini
Ingredients (per martini)
1 teaspoon of Slingsby Marmalade
50ml Slingsby marmalade gin
15ml Cointreau
15ml lemon juice
Measure all the ingredients into a shaker and add ice. Shake for 15-30 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold to the touch.
Double strain the cocktail into martini glasses and garnish with orange zest. For extra flavour, you can squeeze the zest with the peel facing outwards to allow the oils to permeate the cocktail, before placing the zest in the glass.
Pair with: Our limited edition lavender, cardamom & marmalade flavoured macarons. You’ll find these are part of our Mother’s Day ‘Breakfast Martini’ macaron box, complete with a bottle of Slingsby marmalade gin and a breakfast martini recipe card.
#2 The Slingsby Rhubarb and Lychee Martini
Ingredients (per martini)
50ml Slingsby Rhubarb gin
50ml Lychee juice
10ml lemon juice
5ml Gomme syrup
Measure all the ingredients into a shaker and add ice. Shake for 15-30 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold to the touch.
Double strain the cocktail into martini glasses and garnish with either dried rose petals or raspberries.
Pair with: our limited edition macaron box which includes rhubarb and rose macarons alongside five other delicious flavours. The box also includes the all important bottle of Slingsby rhubarb gin.
#3 The Slingsby Marmalade Negroni
50ml Slingsby marmalade gin
50ml Red Vermouth; for example, Martini Rosso
50ml Campari
Stick a large chunk of ice into a short tumbler. Pour over the ingredients and stir. Add orange peel into the glass and you’re done.
Pair with: the vanilla buttercream in our rainbow splash macarons would be a great match with the punchy orange flavours of the negroni.
Give these cocktails a go and let us know how you find them!
